[Cosplay] "Coscase" the World's First Cosplayer Targeted Luggage

Yes, you read that right. There's now luggage that's being targeted directly to cosplayers, but before you think it's weird, this one actually has a few usual features.

The folks behind Coscase, Frentrep, seem to have a pretty interesting idea on there hands with this one. Not only is it completely designed for the needs of cosplayers, but it's also in a convenient carry-on size. Measuring just 24.5 cm x 60 cm x 41 cm (9.6 in x 23.6 in x 16.1 in) and weighing in at 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs), this one definitely would make traveling easier for some.

That said, they're not going for cheap, right now they're looking at about 15,000 yen or $147 USD for the basic kit, including just the case and a strap. Don't let that bog ya down too much though, there's a ton of features on this thing.

Along with the removable make up tray (pictured above), there's also straps along the side to hold all manner of things such as umbrellas, prop swords or other weapons and other such items. Also, while the dimensions listed above prove to be small enough to fit between seats and the like, there's also a compartment that can expand to hold wigs and other similar things.

It may seem weird to cosplayers in the West, but in Japan it's typical for them to change on site in tents or special rooms that have been set up. These kinds of things really could come in handy for train and air travel within Japan.

While I could describe it to ya more, let's just look at their promo video, eh?

Pretty cool stuff, even if the price is a bit high. If you're curious about how to fund this one or just want more details you can check out their Motion Gallery listing (in Japanese). Currently they have 882,000 yen out of the 3.2mil yen (~$31,276 USD) that they're seeking to start production, donators have until March 22nd to hop on board.
